Help
How can we help?
Here are answers to the questions we get asked most. Can't find yours, or something's broken? Report a problem.
Account and sign-in
How do I sign in?
Cozy World uses Telegram to sign you in — no registration, no password to remember.
- In the game, press “Sign in with Telegram” (“Войти через Telegram”).
- A chat with @cozyworldgamebot opens — press “Start”. On a computer, you can also scan the QR code in the game with your phone's camera.
- The bot replies that you're all set — go back to the game and you'll be signed in automatically.
The sign-in code is valid for 5 minutes. If it expires, press “Get a new code” (“Получить новый код”). In the Telegram mini app there's nothing to press at all — you're signed in right away.
Can I play without Telegram?
Not yet. Signing in with Telegram gives you a single account on your computer, in the browser and on your phone — no passwords, no confirmation emails.
Other sign-in options are on our list of ideas, but we're not giving dates yet.
What does “You signed in to Cozy World from another device” mean?
One account, one device at a time. If you sign in on, say, your phone, the game on your computer shows this message (“Вы вошли в Cozy World с другого устройства”). Nothing is lost: on the new device you'll be in the same apartment, right where you were standing.
- Want to continue here? Press “Play here” (“Играть здесь”) and the game signs in again.
- If you didn't sign in anywhere else, check the active sessions in your Telegram settings — the game can only be accessed through your Telegram account.
How do I change my name?
The name your friends see starts out as your Telegram name. You can change it any time under Settings → Profile (“Настройки → Профиль”), up to 24 characters.
Can I change how my character looks?
Walk up to the wardrobe in your apartment and press E (“Переодеться”, change clothes): swap outfits, colors and accessories as often as you like.
Body, skin tone, face and hairstyle are picked the first time you play, and for now they can't be changed afterwards. We're thinking about a way to do that later — so choose with care.
Platforms
What can I play on?
- Windows 10 and 11 — the installer; the game updates itself.
- Desktop browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari 16.4+, Macs included. Nothing to install: play now.
- Phone — as an app: Add to Home Screen on iPhone or Install on Android, with touch controls.
- Telegram — the “Play” button in @cozyworldgamebot.
You always sign in with Telegram, so your character, apartment and friends are the same everywhere. Guests can join from any platform.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. On a phone, Cozy World runs like an app — full screen, no browser bars.
- iPhone (Safari): open cozyworld.online/play, tap Share → Add to Home Screen, then launch the game from its icon.
- Android (Chrome): open cozyworld.online/play and tap Install — the icon appears alongside your other apps.
- Telegram: tap “Play” in @cozyworldgamebot and the game opens right inside Telegram, nothing to install.
If you open the game in a regular browser tab, you'll first see a screen explaining how to install it.
Hold your phone sideways. On the left is the joystick: move your finger to walk, push it far forward to run. On the right, swipe to look around and tap buttons for actions, emotes and chat. You can decorate your apartment with your fingers too.
Is the game free?
Yes. Downloading the game and playing in the browser or in Telegram is free, and there are no in-game purchases right now.
Is the game available in English?
Not yet. The game's interface and text are currently Russian only. We made an English version of this website so friends from other countries can find their way around — but we're not promising an English version of the game itself just yet.
If you're playing anyway: the controls are standard (WASD, mouse, E to interact, Esc for the menu, F1 for all keys), and the help pages show the Russian button names in brackets.
Installing
How do I install the game on Windows?
- Download
CozyWorldSetup.exefrom the Download page — about 2.4 MB. - Run it. No admin rights needed. Pick a folder — another drive is fine.
- The launcher downloads the game (about 270 MB), showing speed and time left. If the connection drops, it resumes where it stopped.
- Press “Play” (“Играть”) and sign in with Telegram.
Will it run on my computer?
For the Windows version:
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit;
- a DirectX 11 compatible graphics card;
- 4 GB of RAM;
- about 270 MB of disk space, plus a little extra for updates;
- an internet connection.
On a Mac, Linux or an older Windows? Play in the browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari 16.4+ with WebGL 2.
How do I update the game?
- Windows: each time you launch, the launcher checks for a new version and downloads only the files that changed. If an update lands while you're playing, the game offers to update and restart.
- Browser and Telegram: you always get the latest version. If the game asks you to update, just reload the page.
See what changed in Updates.
Installed version 0.2 and the launcher says “Method not found” (“Метод не найден”)? Download the installer and install over the old one: it picks the same folder and updates without a full re-download.
How do I uninstall the game?
Open Settings → Apps, find Cozy World and click Uninstall. The game files are removed, the uninstaller asks separately about your settings, and your photos in Pictures stay put.
Your account, character and apartment live on our servers: if you come back, sign in with Telegram and everything will be waiting.
In the game
How do I invite a friend?
There are two ways.
Invite code. In your apartment, press “Invite” (“Пригласить”) to get a six-character code. Send it to your friend; they enter it in the main menu under “Join with code” (“Войти по коду”).
Friends. Open Friends (“Друзья”, the O key) to see your ID, something like #K7M-X4R. Swap IDs, accept the requests, and from then on you'll see who's online and can invite a friend with a single “Invite over” (“Позвать в гости”) button.
It doesn't matter what your friend plays on — PC, browser or phone, everyone ends up in the same apartment.
How many people fit in an apartment?
Up to four people: you and three guests. Some can join from a PC, others from a browser or a phone.
Durak at the table is a two-player game; everyone else can watch the table and cheer.
Is my decorating saved?
Yes. Move the sofa on your PC and it'll be in the same spot when you log in from your phone. Reinstalling the game or clearing your browser won't erase your apartment — only settings live on your device (and, in the browser, your photo-mode shots).
Only the host can move furniture; guests can't rearrange anything.
Where are my photos?
Press P for photo mode (or pick “Фоторежим” in the pause menu), then Space to take a shot.
- Windows: photos are saved to Pictures/Cozy World. Photo mode shows your last 12 shots, and the folder button opens the folder.
- Browser and Telegram: your last 12 shots are kept in the browser. Tap a thumbnail and it downloads as a PNG to your Downloads. If you clear the site's data, any shots you haven't downloaded are gone.
When something goes wrong
The browser version loads slowly or keeps reloading
The first launch downloads the whole game — a few dozen megabytes, so Wi-Fi helps. Next time you'll see a “loading from cache” message (“Загружаем из кэша…”) and it's much faster. Private/incognito mode doesn't keep the cache, so the game downloads again every time.
The tab reloads on your phone — usually the browser has run out of memory. Close other tabs and apps, restart the browser and open the game again. An up-to-date browser helps too.
Loading is stuck — reload the page. If you see “No WebGL 2” (“Нет WebGL 2”), turn on hardware acceleration in your browser settings or try Chrome or Edge.
If the browser version struggles on your computer, the Windows version is usually faster.
“Connection lost”, or I can't connect
If your connection drops — say, your phone switches from Wi-Fi to mobile data — the game automatically tries to reconnect a few times and puts you back where you were. If that doesn't work, you'll see “Couldn't restore the connection” (“Не удалось восстановить связь”): check your internet and press “Retry” (“Повторить”).
- Sometimes we restart the servers to roll out an update — give it a couple of minutes. Server health is on the Status page.
- If the PC version won't connect from a work or school network but the browser version works, that network is probably blocking game ports. Try another network or the browser version.
I found a bug — how do I report it?
Fill in the Report a problem form: pick what happened, describe what you were doing and what went wrong, and tell us your device. A contact — say, your Telegram @handle — is optional, but it lets us ask a follow-up question. Once you send it, you'll get a ticket number.
The game also reports technical errors to us automatically — no personal data, just what broke and on which platform.
Thank you — this is how the game gets better.
